By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, and to prepare the Nation for space weather events, it is hereby ordered as follows
Por la autoridad investida en mí como Presidente por la Constitución y las leyes de los Estados Unidos de América, y para preparar a la nación para los eventos de clima espacial, se ordena lo siguiente
Hoy, el presidente Obama firmó una orden ejecutiva que busca coordinar los esfuerzos para preparar a la nación para los eventos de clima espacial. La Orden Ejecutiva ayudará a reducir las pérdidas económicas, salvar vidas y mejorar la seguridad nacional, ordenando la creación de planes de respuesta y recuperación en todo el país y los procedimientos que incorporan tecnologías que mitigan los efectos de los fenómenos del clima espacial. Por esta acción, el Gobierno Federal va a dar el ejemplo y ayudar a motivar a los gobiernos estatales y locales, y otras naciones, para crear comunidades que sean más resistentes a los riesgos del clima espacial.
The National Risk Register of Civil Emergencies (NRR) is the unclassified version of the National Risk Assessment (NRA), a classified assessment of the risks of civil emergencies facing the UK over the next ve years. The NRR is a public resource for individuals and organisations wishing to be better prepared for emergencies. This document Chapter 1 provides an overview of the main types of civil emergencies that could affect the UK. It also sets out the definition of an emergency as it appears in the Civil Contingencies Act 2004, and shows, within the risk matrices, how these emergencies compare in terms of likelihood, and the scale and extent of the consequences. Chapter 2 outlines in more detail the civil emergency risks considered, the consequences of these, and how the Government and emergency responders plan to prepare for and respond to them. Chapter 2 also contains links to information and resources to help individuals and communities to plan for emergencies. Chapter 3 outlines the methodology used to identify, assess and prioritise the risks.
